10 tips to survive wardrobe season change. Make it useful and fun!
Cambio armadio – niente panico – Italiano
8. Preparate outfit pronti all’uso.
Wardrobe season change – No panic – English
Wardrobe season change is a tedious and exhausting task that terrifies you? Do not panic, check the tricks by your fashion blogger friend. We are in May, and – if you have not already done so – you know that wardrobe season change can not be postponed. Pulling out t-shirt and light sweaters from piles of summer garments will only make it worse. So without hesitation, get set, go!
Wardrobe season change – 10 tips to make it useful and fun
Here we are roses, enjoy 10 tips that helped me survive wardrobe season change:
1. Take your time. Who said that wardrobe season change must be completed hastily in one afternoon? Take some time, depending on the size of your wardrobe, and break down the operation in several days.
2. Choose a soundtrack. A summer playlist in the background will help you get into the mood.
3. Before you start, get everything you need: boxes and cases of breathable fabric to store winter clothes, scented sachets at will. Envelopes to store the items to be eliminated and items to be “fixed”.
4. Act in order. Start by emptying the closet of the winter wardrobe. Prepare it to welcome your spring summer wardrobe: it must be clean, airy and perfumed.
5. Eliminate mercilessly. Ruined, felted or discolored garments must absolutely be get rid of. Garments you have not worn for two seasons and – after an honest reflection – you know you won’t ever be wearing again must be destined to people in need. Do not become a serial accumulator, I pray you.
6. Dedicate a special place to unique items. I’m referring to vintage treasures or high-end items: reserve them a special niche you will draw on when you need an outfit with a bang.
7. Now that the winter wardrobe has been taken care of, sort out spring summer wardrobe. I refer you to paragraph 5, adding a category of garments ranging as “to be fixed”. Skirts and dresses purchased online – or in a shop without trying them on like I do – might need to see a good tailor, who will adjust them ad hoc on your unique and perfect silhouette.
8. Prepare ready-to-wear outfits. Since – scattered around you – you have your wearable assets, play mix and match, creating looks complete with accessories, ready to be taken out for a ride.
9. Set up a virtual closet. Take pictures of the ready-to-wear outfits you have created, and of incomplete ones. You will browse it during “I have nothing to wear” crisis and to accomplish point 10.
10. Reward yourself with a shopping list. Your exemplar wardrobe season change has come to an end! You have revamped your wardrobe by creating new ready-to-wear outfits. Some of them are incomplete or would benefit from a special accessory? Relax and treat yourself to a well deserved shopping list!

What fab tips, Coco! I especially love that last one! But, also, so very important (as you’ve noted) to repair and toss the items that are torn, faded, etc. I think I’m ready to go and shop a bit… xx T.http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com
