Hello my precious gems,
Happy Friday! I’m so grateful the weekend is finally here, and I bet you are too 😉
Today I will talk about Comtesse Sofia, a French brand which – in spite of its international clientele – I’d rather define as a Parisian boutique.
Founder Alexandra Rousselot named the company after a comtesse and famous novelist of Russian origins living in France, because the brand’s precious scarves and shawls entwine – like Sofia and Alexandra herself – a noble heritage from different cultures.
In fact, Comtesse Sofia scarves are produced with Russian wool, in a over 200-year-old factory. They are then embroidered, finished and controlled in France by a Parisian workshop, in collaboration with the most distinguished Parisian Haute Couture houses. Its silk fringes are made by hand.
I’m utterly fascinated by the amount of tradition and craftsmanship that goes into each single piece, and I can’t wait to get myself one of these beauties to wrap gently around my shoulders. By the way, my birthday is coming up in a few weeks (wish list alert!).
