Timeless icons – Audrey Hepburn
Hello dears,
today I’m launching a series of posts dedicated to timeless style icons.
Let’s start with my favourite!
Hope you enjoy
Love, Coco
She was..
… a film and fashion icon during Hollywood ’s Golden Age
Accomplishments
– ranked as the third greatest female screen legend in the history of American cinema
– featured in the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame
– appointed Unicef Goodwill Ambassador
– one of the eleven winners of the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony)
Style
– Huge eyes, thick brows, waif-like figure, long legs
– Muse of couturier Hubert de Givenchy and photographer Richard Avedon
– Her favourite outfit: “a simple sheath made an extraordinary way in a special fabric, and just two earrings”
Favourite quotes
“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”
“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
“Pick the day. Enjoy it – to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come… The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present, and I don’t want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.”
“Make-up can only make you look pretty on the outside but it doesn’t help if your ugly on the inside. Unless you eat the make-up.”
“My life isn’t theories and formulae. It’s part instinct, part common sense. Logic is as good a word as any, and I’ve absorbed what logic I have from everything and everyone… from my mother, from training as a ballet dancer, from Vogue magazine, from the laws of life and health and nature.”

Yaaay Coco! I'm glad you're doing this. I love vintage ladies 🙂 I adored Audrey Hepburn. I loved her in Roman Holiday, Funny Face and of course Breakfast at Tiffany's. Can't you tell I'm a vintage film lover? HaHaHa Her style and taste was truly impeccable. She was also very vocal when it came to animals and such. She was a lovely person.<br />Excellent post!
