Let’s start the week looking towards summer holidays: in fact, we will be talking about a brand renowned for its high-end swimwear and resortwear.
Australian label Zimmermann is run by a cohesive team of two sisters, Nicky and Simone, who started up their business in Sydney in 1991, growing increasingly ever since.
Two decades after they started selling bikinis at a local market and in spite of being a renowned and internationally estabilished brand, they made their debut at Manhattan’s Lincoln Centre on the occasion of New York Fashion Week in September 2013, not “to break the market, but to grow a loyal base”, as Nicky Zimmermann declared.
Zimmermann’s laidback yet sophisticated sense of style embodies the natural and sunny approach to life we typically associate with Australia, brought to the next level by a strong focus on wearable trends. Beyond the unique traits of each collection, Zimmermann sisters believe in fact in the meaning of “ready-to-wear” and design garments to suit multiple body types.
