Qualche settimana fa mi sono imbattuta in una signora, una vera lady, di bianco vestita. Si dice che il bianco ingrassi, mentre questa donna sulla cinquantina, per nulla filiforme, poteva vantare una silhouette impeccabile. Per una cena in un locale carino della città aveva scelto un morbido dolcevita in cashmere e pantaloni palazzo dal tessuto strutturato, che lasciavano intravedere sandali gioiello con platform e dettagli in pizzo. A completare il look total white, una pelliccia color latte e pochi luminosi accessori. Al braccio una classica Artsy by Louis Vuitton (un logo è per sempre, finchè arriva Ghesquière). Ammaliata dal suo outfit impeccabile, mi sono ripromessa di indossare più spesso il bianco in inverno. L’outfit di oggi è un primo piccolo passo verso il look total white perfetto che esiste nella mia mente e sulle passerelle di Ralph Lauren.

A few weeks ago I came across a lady, a real lady, dressed in white. It is common belief that white makes you look chunkier, while this woman in her fifties, far from being thin, could boast a flawless silhouette. For a dinner in a nice uptown restaurant she had chosen a soft cashmere turtleneck and textured palazzo pants, that revealed jeweled sandals with platform and lace details. To complete the total white look, a milk-colored fur and a few bright accessories. On her arm a classic Artsy by Louis Vuitton (a logo is forever, until Ghesquière steps in). Bowled over by her impeccable outfit, I promised to myself I would wear more often white in winter. My outfit today is a small first step towards the perfect total white look I see in my mind and on Ralph Lauren‘s catwalks.

How lovely that you were inspired by this lady in all white. Real life is often the best place to find inspiration. I’ve always love to see when women in their fifties or older ladies get dressed up, they’re always so elegant….I guess with age one gets more experience and simply knows what looks good and what doesn’t.
In my building in Split, there is this old lady who must be over 70 and she’s always dressed up, dyes her hair pitch black (she must do that at least once a week because one can never see the grey hair on her) and wears red lipstick at all times.
Anyhow, you’re such an angelic beauty in all white. The coat is heavenly…and I love the details (ruffles) on it. Very feminine and stylish outfit.
