My precious gems,
if you ask me: “What’s the colour of happiness?”, I would answer without hesitation “Pink!”.
In my imagination, pink is the colour we would plunge in as little girls, as in a cotton candy world where everything is possible. It’s the colour of romance, la vie en rose. The shade of girly treats that lift our mood just by looking at them.
However, today pink has to me a more profound meaning: it’s the colour of motherhood, which we are going to celebrate tomorrow in Italy and in other European countries. With tears in my eyes and my heart overflowing with love, I will celebrate being a mother to my beautiful princess, and becoming an auntie because last night (!!!!) my sister gave birth to her first child. The two of us and our youngest sister will look high above, where our mom is. And then I will think with gratitude of all those biologically childless women who deserve being celebrated for their caring heart and their luminous soul. Happy Mother’s day pink flames!
