Hello petals,
Today I’d love to introduce an amazing young talent bound to become a rising star in Fashion Heaven.
Miguel García – born in Cordoba 24 years ago – studied and trained to be a fashion designer among Spain, Italy and London, where he worked side by side with Emilio de La Morena.
In 2011 he founded his own label “Miguel (after his first name) Alex (after his grandma’s nickname)”, winning awards and gaining popularity ever since.
During Milan Fashion Week I had the honour to meet Miguel, who had just landed after presenting his own fashion show at Madrid Fashion Week.
Miguel Alex Fall 2014 collection is very essential and elegant.
Based on a neutral colour palette, all pieces come from a combination of different fabrics and textures tone sur tone, creating an asymmetry of cuts and volumes.
Inspired by Barnett Newman’s art, black panels give continuity to two-piece suits (#trendalert) like bold brushes of paint.

Is that him on the photos? He looks like really a sweet guy. Great designs, so elegant and beautiful. I'm curious about that fabric of his. Stones and fabric together? sounds like an innovative concept.

wow. this is something new. Black & white will newer get old, but the way he connected those two colours is just fabulous. The cuts are beautiful and make those designs very interesting.
