Come indossare l’abito trench

Scegliendo come accessori stivaletti colorati e uno zainetto.

The trench-dress: rock your Brit duster over your bare skin

The first time I saw a trench-dress I was at a friend’s wedding, a few years ago. I remember being impressed, because the girl who wore it was always a step forward in showing off the latest fashion trends. A few months later, the trench-dress paraded on the catwalks of the greatest designers. And since then it has not gone out of fashion anymore.

How to wear a trench-dress

The fashion trend of the trench dress goes “arm in arm” with the sleeveless trench-coat fashion trend. In fact, most trench-dresses are sleeveless and double-breasted, in khaki gabardine cotton. Just like the one I’m donning in my outfit of the day.

This type of dress is ideal for a chic daytime look. For example for a lunch with friends or for an afternoon date. In this case you can accessorise it with sandals or nude décolleté, and a ladylike bag.

To make it more casual, pull it over a t-shirt and jeans. Choosing accessories like colored ankle boots and a backpack.

Your sleeveless trench-dress is suitable for the office if styled over a shirt and palazzo pants. Always with high heels and a handbag.

To make it more chic and elegant, choose it in a lighter fabric. Like Meghan Markle, who sported a trench coat by Jason Wu in navy blue chiffon to attend her first Royal Foundation Forum.

If you are in your twenties you might love a short-sleeved trench dress with flared skirt. Very preppy with vintage vibes, perfect with sneakers or – even better – ballet flats.
