BB cream and CC cream – Spring Summer Make-up

BB cream and CC cream: surely you’ve heard about them and many of you already have a few in their beauty-case. But do BB cream and CC cream stand for? BB stands for Blemish Balm: perfecting moisturizer. CC stands for Color Control and focuses more closely on the color of the complexion. BB cream revolutionized the border between skincare and make-up, combining in one product the features of both. CC cream is an evolution of BB cream: if the latter gives a very natural look thanks to a light-weight coverage, the former features a higher presence of pigment. BB cream is suitable for normal to dry skin: it moisturizes and evens out the complexion. CC cream is ideal if you want to cover visible imperfections on oily skin types. Each with their own hypes, BB cream and CC cream are ideal to replace foundation in our makeup Spring-Summer makeup routine. A single product to moisturize, cover imperfections, even out the complexion and protect against UV for a light and natural makeup in few minutes.

Here is the top five of the BB cream and CC cream trending now. Disclaimer: I haven’t tried any of them, have you?
1. Thanks to natural pigments and vitamin C, Garnier Original BB Cream represents a new generation of treatments combining in a single gesture the results of a cream with a light touch of make-up.  € 9
2. Without oils or ingredients that weigh down the texture, its formula gives the skin a velvety touch of color. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream moisturizes, reduces blemishes, and blends in nicely. With SPF 30 it protects the skin from the harmful effects of UV rays. € 11
3. Age Defense BB Cream by Clinique is a perfecting anti-aging cream. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines thanks to an exclusive complex of optical correctors. It also prevents visible signs of aging thanks to antioxidants and SPF 30 sunscreen. € 28
4. Biotherm Skin Best CC cream boasts a second-skin effect, reducing pores appearence and smoothing wrinkles. The skin is glowing and protected from UV rays. € 25
5. For Max Factor the evolution of multi-action tinted creams is CC Cream SPF 10. The presence of glycerin makes the product extremely moisturizing. The coverage is modulated by the number of applications. Available in 4 different colors, it’s suitable for all skin types. € 13

I’ve tried other Garnier face creams. They’re very good for the price, but too heavy for my oily skin. I am intrigued by the Maybelline. The Biotherm sounds intriguing, too, but I’m sure it’s much more expensive than Maybelline.

I have tried BB and CC.
For me, if you want a lighter cover to your face but same flawless effect– go for CC
I have dry skin so it’s great fr my skin though BB is a little thicker.
In our weather, it’s not prescribed to wear BB.

I’ve never tried CC cream, but I like BE cream. I sometimes choose BB cream over regular foundation, because of the skincare benefit. But I agree that sometimes they can be to heavy.

Hi, dear Coco! I totally agree with you, that a BB cream can replace the foundation on our makeup! I recently read on a blog about the Maybelline BB cream, saying it was so good… I took a look at a shop yesterday and found out that yes, it’s excellent – such a pity they didn’t have my color. I will look for it this week 🙂 I don’t see much difference about BB or CC – the industry had to launch novelties for women to buy, so now they are launching a DD cream – when will they stop with these letters 🙂 soon we will have an MM cream 🙂
Hope you have a nice week! Baci!

    Hi Valeria,

I am using BB cream of Garnier because it’s really effective but I had not tried CC cream. I don’t think I need it but I will definitely try to see if it’s suitable for my skin. Thank you for sharing.

    Hello,

I am currently Clinique Age Defense BB cream, very effective to my skin and it’s SPF 30 too. Thanks!
