Good morning ladies,
today I’d love to share my admiration for one of the most intriguing and talked about collections seen at Paris Haute Couture.
On the occasion of their 20th anniversary, Viktor and Rolf celebrate their return to couture after 13 years with something very creative.
Their show is a theatrical drama inspired by a Japanese stone garden, where models – dressed in oversized total black vests – act as the stones that gardeners Viktor and Rolf delicately adjust, taking part themselves to the performance.
Models makeup features whites and pale shades around the eyes, which shine out thanks to an amazing contouring job, while soft high buns concur to their ethereal look.
The amount of work behind these severe and austere looks is considerable. In fact, though all dresses are black, the fabrics are treated to resemble the textures of stones and grass, while A-lines silhouettes are designed to look grounded, anchored to the ground.
The show conveys a mellow and relaxed mood, intentionally aimed at mirroring the serenity and peace of mind that the designer duo are proudto have achieved over the years.
