Prendersi cura della PELLE GRASSA – Oily Skincare Routine

Come prendersi cura della pelle grassa quotidianamente. Daily skincare routine for oily skin. Via your best beauty blogger friend Valeria Arizzi.

Step 3 – Idratazione e Protezione solare

Daily skincare routine for oily skin

Oily skin is characterized by excessive sebum production, determined by hormonal variations or simply by genetic factors. It might sound easy to recognize it by its oily appearance. However, it can also look rough and thick due to a major occlusion of the pores. Furthermore, the excess of sebum makes it a breeding ground for the bacteria that cause acne.

I have prepared for you a simple yet effective beauty routine to take care of your oily skin daily with love.  I emphasize with love because each type of skin must be taken care of gently and consistently. If you understand your skin needs and treat it accordingly, you will be rewarded with a gorgeous complexion.

What are the needs of oily skin?

When you have oily skin, your mission is to keep it balanced. On the one hand, it is essential to cleanse it morning and evening to prevent sebum from accumulating. On the other, it should not be degreased harshly, in order to avoid a boomerang effect, i.e. a further increase in sebum production. Also remember that it needs as much hydration as dry skin. I mean you don’t want to feed it but you should definitely water it!

Now let’s go through an essential daily beauty routine, which we can extend in a further post or in the comments.

Step 1 – Cleansing and Tonic

First of all cleanse – morning and evening – with a gentle balancing rinse-off detergent, like this Obagi foaming gel for normal to oily skin.  Always remember to apply a small amount of cleansing gel on your hands first. This will allow you to lather it beautifully on your face without using too much product!

Step 2 – Specific Serum

Then you can move on to the application of a serum, a concentrate of active ingredients aimed at solving specific problems. For example an anti-aging serum, rather than an anti-blemish or simply moisturizing serum.  Just make sure to choose a water-based serum and not an oily one, which would be too heavy for you.

Step 3 – Hydration and SPF

After the serum go on and apply a lightweight moisturizer, which must leave the skin soft but not greasy.  As the final step of your beauty routine 365 days a year, never forget sunscreen!  Read this post to find out more.
