The easiest and coolest way to wear tartan today. Good morning fashion lovers!  If you are trendy millenials you have grown up during the peak of popularity of tartan. If, like me, you are nearing your forties, you are experiencing its come-back. I remember when, as a child, my sister and me were forced to wear matching red tartan skirts. Later, as a teenager, rocker plaid shirts were all the rage. Then all of a sudden tartan went out of fashion, and slowly came back in vogue  in 2014. Winter 2018-2019 has been a great year for the Scottish checks, spotted on the catwalks as much as on the street. But what changed over the years?

Today designers are experimenting with new colors and with bold print mixing. Not to mention tartan has come to cover virtually every piece of clothing and accessory. See my shoes here.

My OOTD featuring a tartan skirt

Tartan today can be a maxi pleated skirt in hues of grey and bright pink. Considering that maxi skirts are a staple in many multi-layer outfits, several combinations are possible. For example you can style an oversize sweater over your plaid maxi and wear it with sneakers. Or match it with a statement t-shirt to mix prints and go super casual.

Today I sort of kept a low profile, styling my checkered skirt by Foudesir with a heather grey sweater and fur jacket. When you don’t feel confident about mixing prints, you can always pick one color of your tartan pattern and stick with it to create your look. 

Then I surfed once more the sparkle and shine fashion trend with my Menbur booties. Not to mention the double bag fashion trend, so practical and convenient if you ask me!

La soluzione più semplice e alla moda per indossare la fantasia scozzese nel 2019. Buongiorno fashioniste del mio cuore! Se siete millenial modaiole avete assistito alla crescente popolarità della fantasia scozzese negli ultimi anni. Se invece – come me – avete superato i trenta da un bel po’, state semplicemente assistendo al suo ritorno. Mi ricordo quando, da bambine, io e mia sorella eravamo costrette ad indossare la stessa gonna scozzese rossa a portafoglio nei giorni di festa. E di come poi da teenager abbiamo abbracciato il lato più rock del tartan, con camicie in plaid a quadri giganti. Poi all’improvviso la fantasia scozzese è andata fuori moda, per tornare alla ribalta nel 2014. E da allora è rimasta una tendenza moda in continua evoluzione. Per esempio questo Inverno 2018-2019 è stata una grande stagione per il tartan, sia in passerella che nello street-style. Ma come è cambiato negli anni?

Oggi i designer stanno sperimentando con nuovi colori e mix di stampe. Per non parlare dell’onnipresenza del tartan su capi e accessori. A proposito, avete visto queste scarpe? 

Il mio outfit con maxi gonna scozzese

Oggi il tartan può essere indossato per esempio sotto forma di una maxi skirt plissé nei toni del grigio e del rosa acceso (by Foudesir ndr). Considerato che le gonne maxi sono la base di molti outfit multi-strafo, diversi abbinamenti sono possibili. Così puoi indossare un maglione oversize sopra la tua maxi gonna scozzese e abbinarvi delle sneakers. Oppure infilarvi una t-shirt stampata per un look super casual.

Oggi ho mantenuto un profilo basso, abbinando alla mia maxi gonna scozzese un dolcevita e una pelliccia grigio chiaro.  Infatti se non vi sentite pronte a creare un mix di stampe potete scegliere un colore della fantasia scozzese e attenervi a quello per creare un look.

Infine ho abbracciato ancora una volta la tendenza moda che ci vuole sfavillanti con i miei stivaletti di Menbur. E anche quella della doppia borsa, che ho fatto diventare tripla!
